Hi, I’m Josh Shindler, a web designer living and working in Hendon, North West London.

If you’ve heard of me before, chances are it’s through my tweets, linkedin page, behance network or one of the sites that I have built.

I’ve been working as a professional web designer for the last seven years. I split my time between my freelance business Web Design by Joshua Shindler and my web designer position at The National Archives.

This site is a collection of projects that span my professional work to my personal interests. Check out my portfolio showing the projects I’m most proud of from my working life.

Like a lot of designers I’m passionate about my field and industry. I love talking about typography, layout, space, form, colour, semantics, accessibility and usability. The ideas space section is my digital playground where I hope to express myself and comment about current ideas and trends within the industry – a sort of blog, but without the heavy copy.

    • Web design

      I design and build accessible, usable and beautiful websites for individuals, small businesses and organisations.

    • Mobile site design

      Between September 2009 and January 2011 mobile internet usage grew by 4000%. Can you afford for your website to not be optimised for tablets and smartphones?

    • Email design and marketing

      Designing a enewsletter is different both technically and visually than a web page. An email that looks ok in Outlook might not quite cut the mustard in Gmail.
